Sevenoaks Literary Festival 2019

Festival Fever hits Sevenoaks

Festival fever has hit Sevenoaks with a vengeance!  Whether you're a fan of books, drama or music there's something on offer for you!

Bank Holiday weekend, May 6/7 is the date for the 2018 Chiddingstone Literary Festival, a literary feast with Ian Rankin, Adam Kay, Diana Henry and so many more - all set within the intriguing setting of this quirky Kent country house. 

Celebrating its 35th anniversary season is Hever Festival Theatre. Booking is now open for an eclectic range of music and drama.  There's definitely a treat in store for all the family here. Take a picnic and make it a real occasion.

Spy Thrillers & Jackson Lamb

Thursday 5th October, 7.30 pm at Walthamstow Hall School, Ship Theatre - this is THE destination for you to hear thriller writer Mick Herron in conversation.  Described by Jake Kerridge, crime fiction critic of The Telegraph as having written ‘the finest crime series this millennium’, Mick Herron is author of the award-winning Jackson Lamb series of spy thrillers. 

Whether you know the books and love them, or whether you're coming to hear about them for the first time, the evening's Sevenoaks Literary Festival conversation promises to be a treat!

Be Illuminated!

Patrica Lovett, world renowned scribe and illuminator, will be the Sevenoaks Literary Festival speaker on Wednesday 4 October, 7.30 pm, at Walthamstow Hall School, Hollybush Lane, Sevenoaks.

Specialising in works on vellum with gold and colour, and using quills, Patricia Lovett follows the processes and techniques of mediaeval craftsmen.  

Hear more about her latest book, The Art and History of Calligraphy in what promises to be a fascinating insight into the hugely popular world of heritage crafts.
